Mayor leads walking tour of west downtown
Join Mayor Bob Simmons on a 3-mile walk through the west downtown, currently the focus of a Specific Plan process. The walk starts at 10 a.m. and will include a portion of the Almond Shuey neighborhood; visit some of the potential development sites in the Olympic and Mt. Diablo areas; and explore connectivity between the core downtown and the west downtown. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. To sign up, click here.

Council to consider moratorium on commercial land use conversion
At the recommendation of the Housing and Community Development subcommittee (made up of two City Council members), the City Council will hold a public hearing on March 17 to consider a moratorium on conversion of commercially designated property to residential use via a Conditional Use Permit. Community Emergency Response Team training
Registration for the Spring 2015 Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training is under way. The goal of CERT is to teach the people the skills they need to pull together and safely help their community in the event of disaster. Classes will be held at Civic Park Community Center on Tuesdays, 6:39-9:30 p.m. April 14 through May 26, with the final graduation drill on Saturday, May 30. Click here to learn more.
