The City of Walnut Creek has the following programs to help current and future homeowners:
Below Market Rate Homeownership Program (BMR)
There are approximately 46 Below Market Rate (BMR) homeownership homes bought and occupied by low and moderate income households. These homes have sales price restrictions so they are affordable to low and moderate income households. For more information about the City's BMRs, please click here.
First-Time Homebuyer Assistance Program (FTHB)
The City’s First Time Homebuyer (FTHB) Program was established in 1994. The program assists low and moderate income households with the purchase of housing within the City by giving the household a loan to assist with a portion of the down payment. Home Rehabilitation Loan & Emergency Repair Program
The City contracts with Habitat for Humanity to provide low-interest rehabilitation loans and emergency grants to low and moderate income Walnut Creek home-owners for the purpose of improving their Walnut Creek Home.
